Green is Hope - and much more!

In general, green is considered a colour that is pleasing to the human eye: a colour "one wants to linger over, a home for the eye, a place of calm arrival", writes Susanne Marschall in her basic work "Farbe im Kino" (Marburg 2005). "In terms of colour dramaturgy, each of the primary colours takes a special path, as does the colour green, the sight of which is linked in humans to images of green vegetation." Green always stands for freshness, naturalness and new growth. Accordingly, green has been used to symbolise ecology and sustainability, as well as human and civil rights. From there it is only a short leap to the meaning in a figurative sense: green is the colour of hope and confidence.
