Vicky Krieps

She is a truly exceptional talent: the actress embodies great women with astonishing ease

Whether Empress Sisi or writer Ingeborg Bachmann: Vicky Krieps embodies great women with astonishing ease. In 2022, the versatile German-Luxembourgish actress even celebrated the world premiere of two films in Cannes: ‘Corsage’ by Marie Kreutzer and ‘More than ever’ by Emily Atef. Vicky Krieps is an exceptional talent. Born in Hesperingen, Luxembourg in 1983, the actress has long since made it to Hollywood. Krieps, who gained her first acting experience at the Luxembourg City Conservatory, now works with international stars such as Viggo Mortensen and Jim Jarmusch, and stars alongside Cate Blanchett and Adam Driver in ‘Father, Mother, Sister, Brother’ (2025), the new film by Jim Jarmusch. She received the European Film Award for Best Actress for her acting performance in ‘Corsage’ and was also honoured with the award for Best Performance at the Cannes Festival for this role. In February 2025, it was announced that Vicky Krieps and director Florian Gallenberger would form the new presidium of the German Film Academy. (Photo portrait: DFA_Florian Liedel)
